Honoring Maori Artists

In a powerful demonstration of Indigenous solidarity and cultural exchange, members of the Coastal Band joined other Chumash and Tongva tribes in welcoming renowned Māori artists from Aotearoa (New Zealand) to California's shores. The historic gathering, hosted by the Wishtoyo Foundation at their Chumash Village in Malibu, brought together these Pacific peoples in ceremony and celebration.
